Just In Case (justincaseimdead.com) takes your privacy seriously, especially since we help you organize sensitive personal, legal, and financial information. Here's what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- If you just read the site, use Just Ask or download a free template: nothing beyond basic site data.
- If you subscribe: your name, email and billing info (handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number), plus where you are in the plan and your email settings, so the right email arrives at the right time.
- What we never collect: your plan. What you write stays in your own Google Drive. We can't see it.
- Google account requirement: You must have a personal Google account to sign up for the Premium Plan. If you do not have one, you must create one in order for access to be granted.
- Basic site data: things like your browser and IP address, collected automatically like on most websites.
How we use it
- To run the service — send check-in reminders and help you find relevant guides
- To bill you for your subscription
- To help you share your finished templates with the people you choose
- To send our newsletter (you can unsubscribe anytime)
We never sell your personal information.
Just Ask guide search
Just Ask searches our guides inside your browser. What you type isn't sent to us or anyone else. Review the linked guide before relying on it.
Who else sees your data
- Stripe — handles payments
- Google Forms — used to collect your submitted info
- Amazon — only if you click an affiliate link; they don't get your documents
We never see or store your plan, so there's nothing of it to share. Your name and email are shared only with the services that run Just In Case: Stripe (payments), Resend (sending emails) and Vercel (hosting the website). These providers also process information needed to run their services, such as payment records, email delivery logs and basic website logs, as described in their own privacy policies. We never sell your information. We'd share them otherwise only if legally required.
Who this service is for
We currently only offer the Services to US residents. If that changes, we'll update this policy.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data anytime by emailing hello@justincaseimdead.com. Deleting it ends your plan emails. Your Google Docs are yours and aren't affected. If you're a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA — reach out and we'll help.
Kids
Just In Case is for adults 18 and over. Your plan may mention your children, but it stays in your own Google Drive. We never receive it.
Cookies
We may use basic cookies to run the site. You can turn these off in your browser settings.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes and update the date at the top.
